Kageshwari-Manohara Municipality (Kathmandu District, Bagmati Province) lies north of central Kathmandu. It was established on 2 December 2014 by merging six former villages (Aalapot, Bhadrabas, Danchhi, Gagalphedi, Gothatar, and Mulpani). Covering about 27.5 km², it had a population of roughly 130,000 by 2021 (up from ~60,000 in 2011). The municipal headquarters is in Ward 5 (Thali, Danchhi). Kageshwari-Manohara is largely a suburban and rural blend on the northern outskirts of Kathmandu: it includes agricultural land, wooded areas, and expanding residential neighborhoods. The former villages included in it border the Gokarna Forest Reserve and are known for panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley. In short, it is a fast-growing northern municipality combining new housing developments with traditional village communities.
Tech Academy Nepal’s collaboration with Kageshwori Municipality focuses on inclusivity and equal opportunity. By reaching out to schools across diverse backgrounds, this partnership helps minimize the digital divide and ensures no child is left behind. With Kageshwori’s support, we are creating a platform where every student can explore technology, innovation, and academic growth regardless of their socio-economic status.
