Changunarayan Municipality (Bhaktapur District, Bagmati Province) is a large hilly municipality on the east side of the Kathmandu Valley. Formed in December 2014 by merging four VDCs (Old-Changunarayan, Chhaling, Duwakot, Jhaukhel), it later absorbed the neighboring Nagarkot area in 2017. Spanning about 62.98 km², Changunarayan is the largest municipality in Bhaktapur District. It is named after and contains the famous Changu Narayan Temple (UNESCO World Heritage Site) – an ancient Hindu temple dating from the 4th century AD – which sits atop a wooded hill. With a 2021 population approaching 88,000, this municipality includes scenic hill towns (including Nagarkot) and rural villages. Changunarayan is renowned for its historical temple, panoramic mountain views, and mixed rural-urban character on the valley’s eastern ridge.
In alliance with Changunarayan Municipality, we aim to preserve culture while promoting modern education. Changunarayan’s leadership in encouraging schools to actively participate in competitions fosters creativity and innovation among students. This partnership ensures that learners grow as globally competitive individuals while staying deeply rooted in their cultural values and identity.
